The Journal of the American Medical Association notes that 90 percent of pedophiles are men and that 98 percent of these individuals are heterosexual.

Protective factors against suicide / bullycide among LGBTQ youth include school safety, support and connectedness (including Gay-Straight Alliances), wider community support, and strong connections with parents and families. It is our duty, as caring adults and allies, to ensure that youth have connections and support -- regardless of the social environment in which they live. Religious fundamentalism is dangerous because it cannot accept ambiguity and diversity and is therefore inherently intolerant. Such intolerance, in the name of virtue, is ruthless and uses political power to destroy what it cannot convert.

One can read into the Bible almost any interpretation of morality. Its passages had been used to defend slavery and the liberation of slaves, to support racism, anti-Semitism and patriotism, to enshrine a dominance of men over women, and to condemn homosexuality as immoral. Rev. Peter J. Gomes

“Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ—to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.
But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.
It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.
It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.
It is dominion we are after. World conquest.
That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less... Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land—of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments...”
George Grant, from The Changing of the Guard, Biblical Principles for Political Action (pp.50-51).

Former white supremacist and Aryan Nation's recruiter Floyd Cochran visited Traverse City to help us learn how hate groups organize and function, and to help us understand the risk that supremacist organizations represent to our community.

Mr. Cochran stated, "The American Family Association backed Traverse City group, is using rhetorical tactics used by the Klu Klux Klan."

"If your area becomes a haven for intolerant people who hate, people won't come to vacation here. I have seen it happen," Cochran said.
