Steven Francis

Paul Nepote's Mystery “Law Professor from Grand Valley College” is revealed. He is:

Steven R. Francis

CONTACT: 231 735-4081

Mr. Francis did not provide his name. He introduced himself only as "an attorney and professor of political science at Grand Valley State University," at the TCAPS Board HR/Policy Committee on April 20, 20011, and then started talking; but that is only the beginning of his story.

Here is what we have learned so far about Nepote's mystery man. Let's begin with his affiliations, which as it turns out are quite predictable considering the agenda of Paul Nepote and William Wiesner.

No Surprise Here

Paul Nepote, who is leading the charge against the Traverse City Area Public School's Anti-Bullying Policy sent out an email blast introducing his guy as: "Law Professor from Grand Valley College stating the dangers of TCAPS proposed addition of sexual orientation to the bullying policy."

As one might expect, there is more to this story.

Mr. Francis Known Affiliations

Alliance Defense Fund
The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) was founded in 1994 by the late Bill Bright (founder, Campus Crusade for Christ), the late Larry Burkett (founder, Crown Financial Ministries), James Dobson (founder, Focus on the Family), the late D. James Kennedy (founder, Coral Ridge Ministries), the late Marlin Maddoux (president, International Christian Media), and [no surprise here] Donald Wildmon (founder, American Family Association), as a response to the American Civil Liberties Union.

ADF's major focus is strategizing and coordinating with hundreds of lawyers and right-wing groups to defend what they define as "Christian legal issues." They are pro-life and anti-gay and their ultimate goal is to see the law and government of the US enshrined with conservative Christian principles. The Alliance Defense Fund literature claims their lawsuits will 'eliminate millions of dollars from those who oppose biblical values, religious freedom, and the spread of the gospel'.

According to Wikipedia, the Alliance Defense Fund believes parents should be able to opt their children out of education and school events that run counter to a family's religious beliefs.

Founders of the Alliance Defense Fund

The Alliance Defense Fund is supported by Several Hard-Line Hate Groups

The following groups have continued to pump out demonizing propaganda aimed at homosexuals and other minorities. These groups are called out because of their ongoing propagation of known falsehoods that have been thoroughly discredited by scientific authorities—and repeated, groundless name-calling. Viewing homosexuality as unbiblical does not qualify organizations for listing as a hate group. [List provided by the Southern Poverty Law Center]
